Accessibility Statement

Hospitality begins with access. How we work to make our restaurant and our website usable for every guest.

Last Updated: 9/8/26

The Charlotte is committed to making our restaurant and our website welcoming and usable for every guest, including guests with disabilities. This statement applies to the website at www.thecharlotterestaurant.com and to our restaurant at 2822 N Henderson Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75206.

Our Commitment

The Charlotte is committed to making our restaurant and our website welcoming and usable for every guest, including guests with disabilities. We believe that hospitality begins with access, and we work to provide a digital experience that is equivalent in quality and function for all visitors.

Conformance Standard

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

We also work to meet the expectations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable Texas accessibility requirements.

Measures on Our Site

We have taken the following steps to improve the accessibility of the Site:

  • Accessibility tool. We have installed a dedicated accessibility tool on the Site that allows visitors to adjust their experience in real time. Visitors can open the tool from the accessibility icon on any page to change text size and spacing, adjust contrast and color settings, enable a readable font, highlight links, pause animation, enlarge the cursor, and use a reading guide. Settings selected in the tool are applied across the Site during your visit.
  • Keyboard navigation. Interactive elements are reachable and operable using a keyboard, with visible focus indicators and skip to content functionality.
  • Screen reader support. Pages use semantic headings, landmarks, descriptive link text, form labels, and ARIA attributes where appropriate so that assistive technology can interpret our content.
  • Text alternatives. Meaningful images include alternative text, and decorative images are marked so that assistive technology can skip them.
  • Color and contrast. We select text and background color combinations intended to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast ratios, and we avoid using color as the only way to convey information.
  • Responsive and resizable. Pages are designed to remain usable when zoomed and when viewed on phones, tablets, and desktop browsers.
  • Readable menus. Our menus are published as accessible web pages rather than images alone, so that they can be read by assistive technology and resized without loss of content.
  • Forms. Reservation, inquiry, and contact forms use clear labels, instructions, and error messages that identify the field that needs attention.

Ongoing Assessment

Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one time project. Our approach includes:

  • Automated accessibility scanning of the Site
  • Manual review using keyboard only navigation and screen reader testing
  • Accessibility review of new pages, features, and campaigns before they are published
  • Review of guest feedback about accessibility barriers and prompt remediation of reported issues

Known Limitations

Parts of our digital experience are provided by third parties, including our reservation platform, our private event inquiry system, our guest feedback tool, our online shop and checkout, embedded maps, and social media feeds. While we select vendors with accessibility in mind and ask them to meet recognized standards, we do not control the code they serve, and their accessibility may vary.

If you encounter a barrier on any third party feature, please contact us. We will help you complete your request directly, including booking a table, submitting an event inquiry, or placing an order, and we will raise the issue with the vendor.

Documents and older content published before our current standards were adopted may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA in full. We remediate these items on an ongoing basis and will provide the content in an accessible format on request.

At Our Restaurant

Our Henderson Avenue location offers accessible entry and accessible restroom facilities, and our team is trained to assist guests with disabilities. We welcome service animals in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

If you would like us to arrange specific accommodations for your visit, such as accessible seating, an accessible path to your table, a quieter area of the dining room, a large print menu, or assistance from our team, please call us at (972) 803-6720 in advance or note your request when you make your reservation. We will do our best to accommodate you.
